What’s Trending in District 7

District 7 residents,

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Littlefield Community Association on being awarded a 2015 Community Development Advocates of Detroit (CDAD) Placemaking Grant for District 7.  The grant opportunity was made possible with the generous support of the Kresge Foundation.

Placemaking is the process of people coming together to design, plan, implement and use great public spaces at the heart of their communities. One grant was chosen in each of the seven (7) city council districts. Successful projects demonstrated a link between their idea and a challenge identified by the neighborhood such as concerns around safety or access to public spaces. Projects also had to have a strong community engagement process and show involvement of their neighbors in planning, implementing and using the space.  Littlefield’s Hearts and Hands Joining Together Park Project was selected by CDAD for District 7.

Great work Littlefield Community Association in helping to strengthen our neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for Detroit residents!

Your partner in Detroit’s resurgence,
